If we haven't linked to your post, it's because there wasn't enough information in the header for us to spot it or make a link. Particularly for fanfiction, we need a title and pairing at least. Anything else is a bonus – spoilers and ratings especially. Please leave a comment if you think we should have linked to something, and we'll add it or pick it up for the next newsletter. However, the newsletters will not be edited to include any changes to your post that happen more than a week after we've posted the newsletter.

If you've friended bau_watch after being added to our watchlist, we'd appreciate it if you could remove the journal from your friends list.

I know we aren't suppose to try to friend bau_watch, but somehow I ended up on their friendlist. I just assumed since I didn't add it, that someone added me. I don't mind a bit, I was just wanting to make sure I wasn't one of the people you were targeting with that comment! So do you guys add someone as a friend or what?

We'll, if you are mutual friends with bau_watch, then I'd ask you to remove that journal from your friends list. There is one important reasons for this: Mutual friends can read each others' FO entries, which means we can read yours. (We don't mind if you can read bau_watch entries; it's not like there's anything more exciting than that month's newsletter rota...)

Anyway, we're only linking public posts in the newsletter, so friending bau_watch isn't necessary. If you still friend bau_watch, every newsletter mod can (and will) see your friends-only entries if he's logged in as bau_watch. That doesn't mean we'll abuse that privilege and read through all your FO entries, and we definitely won't link to any of them (in fact, we ignore any locked entries on principle, even those in communities), but to prevent any misunderstandings or complaints from people, it might be best if we couldn't potentially see those entries. We figure that they are friends-locked for a reason.

Oh, and just FYI... The only reason why we friend people with the bau_watch account is to keep all info relevant for the newsletter in one easily accessible place (bau_watch's f-list) rather than having to check every single comm and journal separately for updates. The system works like this: The mod crew for the newsletter use bau_watch to collect CM-related news/fanfic/events/fanart posts. For that we join CM-related communities (like gubler or criminalxminds, etc.) and friend personal journals that have CM-related content (like, picspams, episode reactions/discussions, etc.) with that watch account. On the day of the newsletter, the mod responsible for that edition checks bau_watch's friends list (and our regular off-LJ sites) for CM activity since the last newsletter edition.

Erm, sorry if that got a little confusing along the way. It's like 1:30 in the morning here.
